Sophie Krakowetz (nee Calyniuk) passed away on July 23, 2010 at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 93. Volunteering was very important to Sophie. She began at the church in Honeymoon and later continued at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Prince Albert. She also volunteered with the Red Cross and Veselka. Her pastimes were sewing, gardening, baking and cooking, curling, golfing, and fishing both summer and winter. She had many fond memories of her trip to Europe. Sophie is survived by her daughters Larrissa (Arnold) Tusa of Cupar, Bonnie (Gordon) Klimek of Saskatoon, and Anne Krakowetz of Prince Albert; and her many nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Bill; her parents Mike and Mary Calyniuk; her brothers and sisters and her son-in-law Barry Pearce. Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 - 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Father Michael Lomaszkiewicz officiating. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Honeymoon, SK with Reverend Father Michael Lomaszkiewicz officiating. Interment will be held at Honeymoon Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donation can be made to the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 305 - 6th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0N2.
