WILLIAM SYDNEY SMITH

WILLIAM SYDNEY SMITH

William Sydney Smith known to his loved ones as Bill, Billy, Cous. & Woso passed peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on July 21st due to his predeceased ancestors needing him to immediately referee between the Islanders and Mainlanders.

Bill is survived by his wife Sandi, two sons Cory & Ben, daughter Rebecca, stepson Ryan and five grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers Mickey and GR, sister Janice, nieces, nephews, a whole bunch of cousins and friends and of course least we forget his furry kids Knuckles, Pearly & Willie tad dogs.

In addition to his parents Max and Peggy he was predeceased in death by his older brother Big Ter along with several Aunts and Uncles.

Billy worked at the Catalyst Mill 30 years until he retired and resided in Crofton at the time of his passing. Along with his keen interests in hockey and golf, he could also be found organizing and participating in a few rounds of bocchi, croquet and the ever demanding game of hoola hoop. Not above mischief making, Billy was known to be a bit of a prankster, a ranking that he held with pride and infused with humour. He was happiest when he could lend a helping hand to those who came into his life. Billy had a playful and irreverent outlook towards life, an attitude he was fortunate enough to retain right up until his passing. He was adamant that family and friends use the occasion of his passing to remember and celebrate his life. He requested that those who cared and remembered, share a special memory, make a donation to their charity of choice and have a drink in his honour, preferably a Labatts Blue or if that's not available a big fat one will do.
