At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB, on July 31, 2010, following a lengthy illness, Mr. Murray Lincoln Blagden, husband of Mrs. Carolyn (Nice) Blagden, beloved wife of 45 years of Utopia, NB. Born at Saint John, NB on September 12, 1945, he was a son of the late John C. and Margaret E. (Burley) Blagden. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife, Carolyn, he is survived by two daughters; Ellen Blagden of Pennfield, NB and Charlene (Robert) Lord and their children, Kaylee and Tonya Lord of Utopia, NB, his sister, Sharon Blagden of Saint John, NB, his brother, Phillip Blagden of Musquash, NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister, Ellen Vera Blagden. For several years, Murray was a Pipefitter/Welder by trade and was a member of the Plumbers and Piperfitters Union Local #213. He was a former employee of the Irving Pulp and Paper and the Irving Oil Refinery both in Saint John, Lake Utopia Pulp and Paper and Comstock. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, ice fishing and four wheeling. In the winter months he enjoyed Curling and was a former member of the St. George Curling Club and of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69, Saint John, NB. Murray was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Resting at St. Mark's Anglican Church, St. George, NB from where the service will be held on Tuesday at 2 pm with Rev. Mary Anne Langmaid officiating, followed by the interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the church will take place on Sunday from 7 to 9 pm and on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In Murray's memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, St. Mark's Anglican Church, or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
