Eileen Bardsley, wife of the late John A. Bardsley passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born at Saint John, NB on September 5, 1918 she was the daughter of the late Humphrey J. and Sarah F. (McLaughlin) Sheehan. Eileen was a graduate of Saint Vincent's Girl's High School and Saint John Vocational School. She worked in the business office of Manchester Robertson Allison Department Store prior to her marriage. Eileen was an auxiliary member of the CWL, Saint Joseph's Hospital, Saint Vincent's Alumnae and also the Saint John Liberal Association. She is survived by her children; sons, John (Bea) of Halifax, NS, Bob (Maureen) and Andy (Nancy) both of Rothesay, NB and daughters, Jane Agar and Sally (David) Gillis both of Saint John; grandchildren, Kevin, Elizabeth, Rob, Andrew, Michael, Christopher, Emily, Matthew, Nicholas, John, Patrick and Jane; great-grandchildren, Molly, Matthew, Laura, Maggie, Caroline, Jeremiah, Sam and Connor. Also one Sister, Mardie Gormley and two sisters-in-law, Irene Bardsley and Elinor Sheehan as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Eileen was predeceased by her daughter, Beth (Embleton); brothers, John, Gerald and Maurice Sheehan and sister, Kay Harper.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Waterloo Street, Saint John at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
