1932 - 2010 - Eunice Jean Merrithew, wife of the late Arthur Douglas Merrithew, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on August 3, 2010 at the age of 78. She was the daughter of the late George and Frances (Morrell) Hyslop of Oak Bay, New Brunswick. Eunice was a graduate of the N.B. Teacher's College and taught for several years at the elementary level in New Brunswick. She was an active member of Allison Baptist Church, Dominion Life Member of the Women's Missionary Society and a member of Allison Women's Institute. She is survived by four sons, John (Karen) of Virginia, Wilbert (Cathy) of Salisbury, David (Kenda) of Allison, Andrew of Saint John, ten grandchildren, Peter, Stephanie, Ashley, Amy, Justin, Shelby, Nicholas, Kama, Meagan, Michael and four great grandchildren, Jon, Jason, Alex and Ashby. She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Margaret (Arnold) McLeod and brother, Chester (Georgie) Hyslop along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur and brother Sydney Hyslop.
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 6, 2010 at 11:00 am followed by a reception at Allison Baptist Church. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens on Saturday, August 7 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Eunice's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
