The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, of Preston Clow, of Summerside, age 87 years. Veteran of the Second World War and the Korean War.
Born in Summerside, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary Jane (Gallant) Clow.
Survived by his wife, Shirley (Pineau) Clow; children, Helen Friesen (friend Joyce Gallant), Charlottetown; Joyce (André) Gauthier, Charlottetown; Randy (Darleen) Clow, Summerside; stepchildren, Heather (Rob) Chaisson, Lower Sackville, N.S.; Annette Hogan (Paul Hippenstall), Summerside; Patricia "Tish" (Duane) Watson, Hammonds Plains, N.S.; six grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step great-granddaughter; sisters, Ina (Ray) Dionne, Summerside; and Dorothy (Bill) Fenn, Dartmouth, N.S.
Predeceased by his first wife, Pauline Wedge; sons, David, Ronald, Grant and Wayne Clow; brothers, Leslie "Doc", Austin, Frank, Gordon, Leroy, Kenneth and Wendell "Windy" Clow; and half-brothers, Leonard and Ernest Clow.
Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Friday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Thursday from 6-9 p.m. only.
Memorial donations to St. Paul's Cemetery Fund, the Prince County Hospital Foundation, or the P.E.I. Humane Society would be appreciated.
Members of the Summerside Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home, Thursday at 5:45 p.m.
