ELIZABETH TURNER

Elizabeth "Betty" Jeanette Turner (nee Burchill) died peacefully on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at PeopleCare, Tavistock where she had lived for the past two years. Betty was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on February 16, 1919 and always called the prairies "home." Predeceased by her dear husband of 60 years, George Richard Turner (2004), and by her beloved sister Linda Gray and brother Gerald Burchill. Loved mother of Judy Turner of Aurora, Ontario (husband Terry Hawtin) and Lynn Hayward (husband Mark) of Woodstock, and special "grandma Betty" to Cody Hayward and Sarah Turner-Hawtin. Beloved aunt of Barry Gray of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and Jerry Burchill of London, Ontario, and "great aunt Betty" to Peggy Bray and family, Rob Burchill and family, Sandy Szarko and family, and Gerry and Alex Kominek. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her sisters- and brothers-in-law: Irene and Mel Hogeland and family, Richard and Ethel Turner and family, and Viola Smith and family, and by her many friends. The family is very grateful to her faithful visitors and telephone pals. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Brad Card and to the very special nurses and staff at PeopleCare, Tavistock for their excellent and compassionate care. Friends will be received at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Friday, 7-9 pm. A private family service will follow.
