Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, August 1, 2010, Violet Clarke of Victoria, age 83 years. Predeceased by son: Bridle; daughters: Gladys and Ella; infant daughter; parents: Benjamin and Lucy Baker; brothers: Benjamin and Fred; sisters: Evelyn, Jessie, Elizabeth and Eva; step-brothers: Jack and Bill; step-sister: Julia. Left to mourn, husband: Pleman; seven daughters: Joyce (Ellis) Antle and Margaret (Fred) Martin, both of Victoria, Louella (Don) Barker, Edmonton, AB, Rosalind Reese, Ontario, Peggy (Roger Bennett), Edmonton, AB, Judy (Tony) Clarke, Victoria and Pamela (Roger) Durnford, Grande Prairie, AB; two sons: Randell (Marilyn) and Benjamin (Kathy), both of Victoria; twenty-four grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother: Albert Baker, Vancouver, BC; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rev. Jesse Bown conducted the funeral service on Wednesday, August 4 at the United Church, Victoria. Interment took place in the United Cemetery, Victoria.
