It is with great sadness the family of the late Angus K. MacLean age 70 of Port Howe, N.S. announces his passing on Monday, May 25, 2009 at Gables Lodge, Amherst, N.S. Born in Florence, N.S., he was a son of the late Kenneth and Mary (Brown) MacLean. Angus served for 32 years in the Military and was highly decorated with the George Medal for Bravery as well as the Order of St. John. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for many years. Angus was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his many friends. He is survived by his wife the former Deborah Ann Grace, one son Kevin of Thailand, four daughters Lourlei MacLean and Rachel Fisher both of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Erin Mattinson of Vancouver, B.C. and Renee Mattinson of Surrey, B.C., two sisters Naomi Ross and Erma (Bill) Baker both of Winnipeg, MB, three brothers Bill (Lorraine) and Danny (Dorothy) both of British Columbia and Ian (Dawn) of Winnipeg, five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Angus was predeceased by a sister Esther Babcock. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst (667-9906). There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. Private memorial will take place at a later date in Cape Breton.
