Reid, Gordon Douglas, 72, Windsor Forks, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. Born in Murray Harbor North, PEI on May 19, 1938, he was a son of the late Harry and Isabelle (Anderson) Reid. Gordon was a lover of boats and the sea. He worked on small fishing boats and had owned two lobster boats. Gordon worked on the PEI Ferry that ran from PEI to Nova Scotia. He later took a course that gave him his ticket as a chief engineer on seismographic boats for Shell, Irving, Esso, and Halliburton. Gordon also served on a tugboat for Atlantic Towing, serving until he retired due to bad health . Gordon is survived by his wife Doris (Church) and two daughters Terry (Gary) Woodhouse and Colleen (Clifford) Gillis, four grandchildren, John, Shannon, Derrell and Jade, two great grandchildren, six step children and their families. He is also survived by two sisters Ethel and Percilla as well as a brother Stirling. The Memorial Service was held on Monday, August 9, 2010, at 3:00 pm at the Anglican Church in Three Mile Plains, with Reverend Tom Henderson officiating. Visitation took place previous to the service from 1:00 to 2:00, at the same location. Family flowers only. Donations in Gordon's memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation, or to a charity of ones choice.
