Peacefully at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, with her family by her side of Mary Lorette Arsenault, formally of Tignish, in her 102 year. Beloved wife of the late Edmond J. Arsenault, who predeceased her in 1954. Born on Aug. 22, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Mary Catherine (nee Arsenault) Pitre. Lovingly remembered by her daughters, Alvina Pitre, Stella Gallant (Alfred) Emilda Pitre (Alcide). She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Norma Arsenault, a sister, Emily Pitre, sisters-in-law, Olive, Julia and Doris Pitre, Mary and Edna Arsenault. She is also survived by her 25 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and by one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by three sons, Emile, Reggie and Adrian, as well as a daughter, Frances, in infancy. She was also predeceased by two grandsons in infancy, and great-granddaughter, Valerie Jones, sons-in-law, Alyre Pitre, Alban Gallant, and by daughter-in-law, Rejeanne Arsenault. Also predeceased by brothers, Arthur, Ben, Charlie, John, William, Henry, Frank, Adrain and Joseph, and by sisters-in-law, Virginia, Julia, Minnie, Catherine, Cecile, Dorothy McKinnon, brothers-in-law, Alcide, Edward, Arthur and Sylvere. She will be sadly missed by her many nephews, nieces and friends. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Funeral on Friday afternoon from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 3 p.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Friday from 1 p.m. until time of funeral. The Tignish Council of the C.W.L will hold a prayer service Thursday evening at 6:45 p.m. As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Maplewood Manor or to the Tignish Seniors Coop Home would be gratefully appreciated.
