Gordon E. Baker, 82, of Moncton, with his loving family and friends at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, August 11, 2010. Born in Bridgetown, NS, he was the son of the late James and Nettie (Vienot) Baker. Gordon was retired from the Moffats Electrical Plant (Stores) with over 40 years service. He attended St. Phillips Anglican Church and was a member of the local Masonic Order. Gordon loved to garden (especially growing tomatoes with Jack) and playing crib. He was a people person who loved socializing with his neighbors and spending precious time with his family. Gordon will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Julia (Penney) Baker; daughter, Lea Roy (Mary), Greenwood, NS; grandson, Gordon R. Roy, NS; sisters, Evelyn Gates, Middleton, NS, Rhoda Yates, Niagara Falls, ON and Isabelle, NS; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday, August 14, 2010 from 10:00 am until time of service. Funeral Service will be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, August 14, 2010, 11:00 am, Archdeacon R.B. Stockall officiating.
