GLENN EDWARD WHITEMAN

April 21, 1937 - August 6, 2010

After a brief stay in hospital, Glenn died of congestive heart failure in Durango Colorado.

Glenn, the son of William and Evelyn (Dempsey) Whiteman, was born and grew up in Kamloops B.C. Throughout his school years he was active in sports: hockey and lacrosse. He was an avid hunter, joining his father and brothers on bird and deer hunts in the surrounding hills.

In 1955, he went to Czar, a small prairie town in Central Alberta, to help run a family hotel business. He returned to Kamloops in 1958 where he began his life-long career in the mechanical trades as a sheet metal worker. In 1966, after working around the province on various construction jobs, he decided to relocate to Walnut Creek, California. He remained in the Bay area until his retirement in 2001 and then settled in Durango, Colorado where he spent his remaining years.

Glenn is survived by sons, Steven Whiteman of Durango, Colorado, Glen Whiteman Jr. of Richmond, California, Ken Whiteman of Red Deer, Alberta, and daughters, Kerry Graham of Kamloops and Kim Echino of Surrey and four grandchildren. Glenn will be missed by his families and friends on both sides of the border.

In keeping with Glenn's wishes, cremation has occurred.
