June 2nd, 1955 - August 11th, 2010. It is with broken hearts that the family announce the passing of our dear daughter, sister, aunt and best friend, Sharon Anne Power of Logy Bay, after a courageous 2 yr. battle with ovarian cancer. Sharon retired from the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission on June 30th, 2010 after 38 years of service. She was an executive member of NAPE and the Federation of Labour for many years. She leaves to mourn her parents Kevin and Bridie Power of Logy Bay, brother Steve Power (Debbie); sisters: Mary Sullivan, Jenny Nash (Bert), Rosalie Ledwell (Pat); nephews and nieces: Stephen Power, Tara Sullivan, Lori, Karen and Bertram Nash, Keith Ledwell (Colleen, Katherine), Mark Ledwell (Angela), Janet Hancock (Derrick, Caden); brother-in-law Joe Sullivan; her faithful furry buddy and companion Ben. As well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers, and friends. Many thanks to Dr. Patti Power, Dr. Lisa Dawson, Dr. Cathy Popadiuk, Dr. Erica Fowler, nurses and staff of 4 South A at the Health Science Centre and Dr. H. Bliss Cancer Care Foundation for their extended care and attention during Sharon's illness. Special thanks to her guardian angel Chris Power, who was by her side every step of the way. Also special thanks to Father Francis Roche and Father Leo English for their many visits. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, Torbay. Visitation on Thursday from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, August 14th from St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Outer Cove at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Francis of Assist Cemetery, Outer Cove.
