Irene Marianchuk
January 27, 1910 – May 23, 2009
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother on May 23, 2009. Irene or Grandma, as she was known by many, was kind, gentle and generous. She will forever be remembered for her unending patience and quiet grace. Her loving and supportive nature touched everyone who knew her. Grandma had many passions in life including gardening, crafts, knitting and word puzzles. However, caring for and spending time with her family was what she cherished most. Cooking and baking were also one of her many talents. Grandma’s borscht, cabbage rolls and perogies were always special treats. Grandma was born in Insinger, SK and raised her family in the Theodore area. Following her retirement in 1978, Grandma joined her daughter Carole and family in both Central Butte and Wakaw, SK. She was with Carole and family up until a few years ago when she became a resident of the Lakeview Pioneer Lodge in Wakaw. Irene was predeceased by her daughter Margaret and son Bradley, three brothers and one sister. She is survived by her daughter Carole (Harvey) Skea of Wakaw, SK; her granddaughter Donna (Bill) Bezeau of Windsor, ON; her grandson Warren (Sharon) Skea of Frisco, Texas; her grand-daughter Leandra (Wade) Swales of Prince Albert, SK; her great grandsons, Taryn and Shelby Skea and Athan Swales and her great granddaughter Ellison Irene Swales as well as one sister and two brothers and two special nieces, Vivian Lundgren and Amy (Mike) Dwernychuk of Saskatoon, SK. Grandma will be truly missed and lovingly remembered forever. There will be no funeral service. A private family Inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lakeview Pioneer Lodge, Box 189, Wakaw, SK, S0K 4P0 or a charity of choice, would be graciously accepted by the family.
