Phyllis Moody Murphy, of Quarryville and Summerside, and formerly of Blackville, and wife of Allison Murphy, of Summerside, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at the age of 89. Born in Blackville, on May 1, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Wilmot and Elizabeth M. (Walls) Moody. She was a homemaker and a former school teacher, cook and nanny, prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Andrews United Church, Blackville; a former member of Branch #49. Royal Canadian Legion, Blackville. She is survived by her husband, Allison,of Summerside, P.E.I.; one daughter, Anna Gerrish (Glen), of Quarryville; one son, Blaine Jardine, of Mississauga, Ont.; one brother, Harold Moody,of Blackville; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Lawrence Jardine. Visitation will be at St. Andrews United Church Hall, Blackville, on Saturday only, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church, Blackville, on Sunday, May 31, 2009, at 4pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
