The death of Mr. Glendon C. "Peanut" Reid, husband of Elsie L. (Armstrong) Reid of Saint John West occurred on August 24, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Saint John on April 28, 1927, he was the son of the late William James and Olive (Canning) Reid. Mr. Reid worked at the Irving Pulp and Paper Mill as a Machine Tender before retirement. Over the years, he was a great supporter of hockey at the Lancaster Centennial Arena as well as being involved with baseball in the summers. He was also a member of the Douglas Avenue Christian Church. He is the last surviving member of his family. He is survived by his wife Elsie, sons Brian Reid, David Reid, Kevin (Phyllis) Reid, all of Saint John, and Gary Reid of Toronto, one daughter Lana (David) Kiervin of Saint John, one grandson Kevin, Jr., several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, son Peter Reid, brother Ernie Reid, and sisters Marion Ramsey and Lillian MacDougall.
Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701). Visiting on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. from Castle
