STELLARTON – Edna May Waugh, 97, Stellarton, formerly of Malagash, passed away Friday, May 29, 2009, in Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou.
Born in Wallace River, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Jennie (Henderson) Rhindress.
She was a longtime member of the Nova Scotia Liberal Association; a member of Purity Rebekah Lodge # 105 (had received her 60-year jewel); a member of Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton and St. John’s United Church, Wallace.
She is survived by her special niece, Jennifer (Ed) LeBlanc, Stellarton; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Eldon; four sisters, Margaret “Dolly†Rhindress, Elizabeth MacLeod, Anne Ross, Dorothy Chisholm; three brothers, James, Gordon and Raymond.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 1, in Mundle’s Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (243-2506). The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, in St. John’s United Church, Wallace. Rev. Connie McNamara officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Wallace River.
