Laura V. Savage of Fredericton, NB passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Born in Doaktown, NB she was the daughter of the late Laurence and Elizabeth (Holmes) Doak. She was the loving wife of Ken Savage and they celebrated their 60 year anniversary on August 24. Before her illness, Laura and Ken thoroughly enjoyed square dancing, round dancing and skating. She was a dedicated bookkeeper for Auto Machinery for 40 years and she was a long time member of the Marysville United Church where she also was active with the UCW. Laura is predeceased by her brothers, Harold and Arden Doak as well as her sisters, Clara Haines, Frances McWhinnie and Edith Doak.
Visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home (458-9170) on Friday, August 27, 2010 from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at Marysville United Church on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11:00 am with Rev. Kelly Burke and Rev. Mac Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes in Laura's honor may be made to the Marysville United Church, the Alzheimer's Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
