September 14, 1927 - August 24, 2010. Passed peacefully away with grace and dignity at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, Dorothy Bryant of Cavendish, aged 82 years. Predeceased by parents William and Gertrude Bishop, grandson Chad Meaney, brothers Jack Bishop, Walter Bishop (Violet), Harold Bishop (Florrie), Maxwell Bishop and Sterling Bishop. Leaving to mourn and to celebrate her life with thanksgiving are: her loving and devoted husband of 64 wonderful years, Reuben; eight loving daughters and their families: Daphne Osborne (Fred), Doris Cumby (Larry), Millie Crane (Randell), Diane Higdon (Walter), Roma Meaney (Lawrence), Cynthia Fougere (Gerald), Beverley Bishop (Donald) and Wendy Bryant Carew (Wallace); eleven beautiful grandchildren and four precious great-grandchildren with baby Liam on the way. She is also lovingly remembered with cherished memories by: her baby sister Nellie Reid (Allan), two brothers: Harrison Bishop (Alma), Solomon Bishop (Esther, deceased), sister-in-law Elizabeth Bishop, as well as a large number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. Resting at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Cavendish on Thursday, August 26 at 12:00 noon until time of funeral. The Funeral service will be held from the Church of the Good Shepherd on Friday, August 27 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Cavendish. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home, Dildo. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd Memorial Fund.
