NEW GLASGOW – Heywood Scott Fraser, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the age of 63.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Ethel M. Fraser and the late Robert Scott Fraser.
Scottie was a life-long resident of New Glasgow and lived with his mother until recent years. Since then he was a resident of Riverview Thomas Lane Community Option, Westville, where he was cared for by Arlene, Reba, Mike and the gang. Scottie's favourite pass times included listening to pipe music and spending his summers in Chance Harbour at the family cottage. He was a member of the Summer Street Industries Choir and was greatly loved by the staff at Thomas Lane.
Scottie is survived by his mother. Ethel; and brothers, Barry James (Gail); and Robert Alexander; nephews, Aaron (Nicole), Matthew (Emily) and niece, Janel (Neil).
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 3, from 2-4 p.m. in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Almont Avenue, New Glasgow. A private interment will be held at the Lorne Street Cemetery on Thursday, June 4, for immediate family and the Thomas Lane family, with Rev. Jim Webber-Cook officiating.
