1927 - 2010 - Louise Adelaide Sonier passed away at The Moncton Hospital on August 26th, 2010. Louise Sonier (nee Crawford) was born September 27th, 1927 in Newcastle, N.B. She trained at The Moncton Hospital School of Nursing and following graduation worked at The Moncton Hospital. She served as head nurse of the Maternity Ward for over thirty years before retiring in 1982. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, golf and spending time at her cottage on the Miramichi. In recent years, she made her home at McNair Manor where she received wonderful care. Louise was predeceased by her husband, Leo Sonier, her parents, Stanley and Ina (Arbeau) Crawford and her sister, Dorothea Bunting. She is survived by her dear son, Ross (Loredana) and her beloved grandchildren, Matthew (Kate) and Christina (David) and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm on Sunday, August 29th, at Trinity United Church, 85 Old Coach Road in Riverview. Funeral Services will be held at Trinity United Church on Monday, August 30th, at 2 pm. with Rev. Charlotte Youland officiating. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Louise's memory to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
