HEARN, Edward (Ned)– Passed peacefully away at home with his family at his side on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at the age of 90 years. Ned was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is predeceased by his wife Catherine, who passed away on July 8, 2008; by his parents James and Elizabeth and his brothers James, Andrew and Peter. Ned was a man of great integrity who lived his life fully dedicated to his family. He will be deeply missed by his eight children and their families. He is survived by his brother Joseph Hearn; his children Eddie (Frances), Betty, Tommy (Helen), Paul (John Cambell), Brenda (Jerry Chafe), John (Mary), Leo and Mary (John Cooper). As well, Poppy Hearn will be remembered dearly by his grandchildren Greg and Richard Hearn, Nicole McHugh, Lorena, Yuri, and Meghan Power, Melanie and Miranda Hearn, Sheldon, Adam and Jessica Chafe, Keegan and Kayla Hearn, and two great-grandchildren Hannah and Joshua Brown. Also leaving to mourn are his extended family Jim, Rita, Donna, Al and Jane (Hearn) and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd. Visitation on Monday 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Tuesday 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 8 at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Church in Petty Harbour. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Petty Harbour. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in his memory to The Kidney Foundation.
