It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother and uncle Allan Victor Burton, age 55, of Dartmouth and formerly Georges River and Alder Point on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at his home.
Born in Baddeck, he was a son of Helen (Duchesney) Burton, North Sydney and of the late Kenneth H. Burton. He was employed for a number of years with Warren Construction and at the Point Edward Naval Base.
Besides his mother Helen, Victor is survived by sisters Elsie Burton, Lilly (Leroy) Pyke, both of North Sydney, Sally Burton, Lorraine Burton, both of Dartmouth, Peggy (Robert) Shaw, Margaree; brothers Angus Burton, William (Blanche) Burton, both of Dingwall, Jackie (Corinne) Burton, Frenchvale; also by several nieces and nephews and good friend Ken Godsoe.
Victor was predeceased by his father and brothers Danny and Henry Burton.
Visitation for Victor will be held 7-9 p.m. Saturday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral service to be held 3 p.m. Sunday from Aspy Bay United Church with Rev. Margie Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Aspy Bay Cemetery.
