PICTOU/PICTOU ISLAND - Carl Aubrey MacCallum, 83, of Pictou, and formerly of Pictou Island, passed away September 1, 2010 in the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou.
Born on Pictou Island, he was a son of the late Ward and Dolina (MacLean) MacCallum.
Carl was a farmer, and will be remembered for his perseverance, insisting on working alone as his health declined and mobility diminished.
He is survived by a sister, Lois MacLean, Pictou; nieces and nephew.
He was predeceased by sisters, Ona Glover, Isabel MacMillan; and brother, Andy MacCallum.
There will be no visitation. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Friday from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Pictou, with Rev. Steve Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Seaview Cemetery.
Family flowers only please. Donations in his memory may be made to the SPCA or the Canadian Cancer Society.
