Donald Keith Barry March 6, 1921 - May 9, 2009. Don passed away peacefully at the age of 88 years. Don will be sadly missed by Lydia, his loving wife of sixty-five years; daughters, Donna (Ed) Fitzgibbon and Gaylene (Doug) Donald; grandchildren, Tara Fitzgibbon, Keri (Scott) Tkachuk, and Jody Fitzgibbon; and great-grandchildren, Malia, Layla and Mallory. He is also survived by his sister Lucille Luckas; brother-in-law Alvin (Eleanor) Schiffner and numerous nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his eldest sister Theda Storry. Born in Tuxford, SK, as a young man Don joined the Army and became a Paratrooper. After his marriage to Lydia, they farmed in Cheadle and Strathmore. Don enjoyed his involvement with the Cheadle Lions Club, the Cheadle Community Associaion and the Strathmore Legion. Don and Lydia retired to Calgary in 1979 and found great pleasure in their winter trips to Arizona where they made many lasting friends.
