MacPHEE, Alfred Augusta "Al" - 64, Truro, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Wednesday evening, September 1, 2010, at Vimy Court Nursing Home, Bible Hill. Born December 26, 1945, in Harmony, Colchester County, he was a son of the late Frank and Jean (Crowell) MacPhee. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and also took pleasure in telling jokes and teasing his grandchildren. Al is survived by his sons, Danny (Cindy), Alberta; Fred (Marie), Truro; daughters, Connie (Mike) Carlton, Alberta; Heather (Don) Furlong, Alberta; brothers, Donald "Don" MacPhee, Belmont; Percy (Shirley) MacPhee, Stewiacke; sister, Yulla Weatherbee, Truro; former wife, Helen MacPhee, Truro; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Gerald; sisters, Edna O'Connell, Sharon McNutt, Olive in infancy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Al's family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., today, September 3, 2010, from where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, September 4, 2010, The Reverend Lori Ramsey officiating.
