The passing of John Harry Dunbar of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Friday, September 3, 2010. He was 72. Born January 23, 1938 in Fredericton, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Alberta M. (McArthur) Dunbar. John owned and operated John Dunbar Drapery Services for 34 years.
John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara H. (Scott) Dunbar; four children, John P. Dunbar (Lisa) of Fredericton, Robert S. Dunbar (Linda) of Whitecourt, Alberta, Barbara A. Bringloe (Chris) of Island View and Dave G. Dunbar (Tami) of Douglas; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one brother Alex Dunbar (Avis) of Fredericton; two sisters Sharon VanGent (Kees) of Napanee, Ont. and Mary Jardine (Frank) of Fredericton; two brothers-in-law Jim Scott (Marilyn) and George Scott (Jeanette) both of Lincoln, N.B.; nieces and nephews.
No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Archdeacon John Sharpe officiating.
