1922-2010 - RICHIBUCTO - Alcide J. Daigle, 88, formerly of St. Charles, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 6, 2010 at the Villa Maria, St. Louis.
Born in St. Charles, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elise (Daigle) Daigle. Before retiring, Alcide worked for the Department of Transportation. He was a member of St. Charles Borromée R.C. Church and the St. Charles Golden Age Club.
Alcide will be sadly missed by his wife, Victoire (née Guimond); his three daughters, Diane Graham (Donald), Claudette Landry (André), both of St. Charles, Francine Noel (Ronald), of Bouctouche; four grandchildren, Mathew, Melanie, Rachel, Michel; six great-grandchildren, Shawn, Janie, Chloé, Amélie, Véronique, Julianne; two sisters, Bertha Levesques (late Everard), of Grand Falls, Rita Kent (Denis), of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Other than by his parents, Alcide was predeceased by two brothers, Jude and Adolphe; and by three sisters, Ida, Nathalie, and Bella.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, kitchen and support staff of the Villa Maria, St. Louis for the wonderful care that they provided to Alcide.
Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, and Wednesday from 2:00 pm until departure for the funeral. A funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 4:00 pm, at the St. Charles Borromée R.C. Church, St. Charles. Internment will be in the parish cemetery. If so desired, donations to the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
