MARY DAVIES

Mary (Parchomchuk) Davies
In sorrow, the Davies family announces the passing of their beloved Mary at the age of 85. She was predeceased by her wonderful husband George. Mary was the much loved mother of George Jr. and daughter Katherine; her grandchildren Alisha, Joshua and Elijah dearly mourn her loss. Mary was born in the Province of Volynsk U.S.S.R but proudly raised in Moose Jaw. She was very involved with the Ukrainian Canadian Association from a young age playing in the Moose Jaw Orchestra. She was a top student who graduated from Peacock High School with a scholarship. She was a skilled stenographer and throughout her career worked for Swifts, Cargill Grain and spent the last many years of her career working in Core Services for the government. Mary was that busy person who you could count on. As a full time career girl, lovingly supporting her aging parents and caring for two children of her own, Mary still found time to support the community. When she wasn't baking pies for the Women's Auxiliary of the S.S.W.A., she was serving her church. She proudly served on the Altar Guild of St. Michael's Church and faithfully played in the Music Ministry of St. Michael's and St. Aidan's. After retirement she became a member of the Regina Mandolin Orchestra and held the first chair until she was 81 years of age. The family welcomes the community to join us as we celebrate Mary's life, for it was a Life Well Lived!! A Graveside Service will be held at Rosedale Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Aidan Anglican Church on Saturday, September 11th at 11a.m. A Concert by the Regina Mandolin Orchestra in Tribute to Mary will be held at the Mae Wilson Theatre at 1p.m., Saturday, September 11th. All are welcome to attend the concert. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Regina Mandolin Orchestra or the Burrowing Owls Association.
