DENA HARLOS
Born: November 29th, 1934
Passed on: September 8th, 2010
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dena after her short, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born and raised in Hearne, SK, she was the youngest of four. She was married to Ted on December 9, 1954 and they resided in Moose Jaw until they moved to a farm in the Mitchellton area in 1970 with their six children and lived there until her passing. Dena loved playing the piano, spending time with her family, her flower garden, cooking and in her earlier years riding her horses. With always having a house-full of people it gave her the opportunity to try out new recipes from her huge collection of cookbooks. She was very involved in the family farm and enjoyed helping out where she could - whether it be running for parts, driving the grain truck or helping with calving. Her love for animals brought her great pleasure over the years, especially the time she spent with the family dogs. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ted of 55½ years, her children Monty (Otilia), Carol (Terry) Wallace, Lyle (Bobbie Jo), Rodger, Wade and Holly (Rod) Brownlee; her grandchildren Gerrad (Brenda), Perry (Gwen), Jeff (Denise), Crystal, Jordan and Jenna, her great-grandchildren Dawson, Ashton, Haaven, Cheyanne, Blake, Carmen, Shaylene, Faith, and Wyatt; her sister Ruth, as well as many nieces, nephews, special friend Irene Knox and numerous other family members and friends. Dena was predeceased by her parents Eva and Louie Huber, her brothers Karl and John Huber, grandson Michael and granddaughter Jaryn. A celebration of Dena's life will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Monday September 13, 2010 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday evening 7 - 8 pm at the Funeral Home. Memorials to Moose Jaw Health Foundation, for the Palliative Care Unit, 455 Fairford St.E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3, would be appreciated. In living memory of Dena, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
