Trenton - Hazel Bell Matheson, of 305 North Main Street, Trenton, passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born at Waughs River, Colchester County she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Ellen (Campbell) Matheson. Most of her life was spent in Trenton. She was an employee of Cameron and Fraser Limited, where she served as secretary. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow and a member of the Ladies Guild. She is survived by nieces: Ellen-Marie Matheson and Lisa Matheson; sister-in- law, Shirley Matheson; grand nephews and niece: Matthew, Andrew, Lauren and their mother Madeleine Matheson. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Melvin, sisters Pearl and Myrtle and a nephew David. Visitation 7-9 pm Monday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 2 pm Tuesday in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow with Rev. Charles MacPherson and Rev. Iona MacLean officiating. Burial will be in Lorne Street Cemetery.
