MORRIS, ROSS P. – 66, of Port Greville, Cumberland Co. passed away Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Moncton City Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Advocate Harbour, he was a son of the late Earl and Emiline (Parker) Morris. He was a loving and caring member of the community and touched many lives playing music for the various churches throughout the community. During his working years, he enjoyed working as a front store manager at Mayfair Foodtown for 30 years. He later was a caregiver at White Birches, Amherst and Hyland Homes, Parrsboro and was a janitor for the Springhill Campus of NSCC and the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Fox River. Ross had a great passion for cooking and baking. He was truly an extraordinary man and was loved by everyone who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Helen Burke; devoted and special daughter, Karen, Truro; sister, Jeanie Gilbert (George), West Brook; brothers, Dallas (Loretta), West Brook; Burnell (Doreen), Oshawa, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Isebelle McCulley; brothers, Wyman ‘Tud’ and Howard. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today (Sunday) at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Rev. Donald Hirtle and Rev. Greg Doyle officiating. Burial in the Port Greville United Cemetery. A reception will follow in the F.P.W. Community Hall, Port Greville.
