James-Grandy, Frances J. - of Moncton, died in the Moncton Hospital, Moncton, New Brunswick, on Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on December 17, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Haines. Frances is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Gratto (Tony), and Susan Arbeau (Neil); her stepson, Barrie Grandy (Veronica); her grandchildren, John Gratto (Cheryl), Susanne Miller (Chris), Ben Arbeau (Lindsey), Tim Arbeau, and Rebecca Arbeau; her step grandchildren, Nancy McGregor (Sean), Hugh Grandy (Peggy), Jeff Grandy, and Peter Grandy; and great grandchildren, Amelia, Anthony, and Alexander Gratto; Elisabeth and David Miller; and Jabin and Jaxson Arbeau. Frances was predeceased by husbands, John B. James and H. Jeffrey Grandy and her son, John David James. She retired in 1980 from the Victoria General Hospital moving to the Annapolis Valley where she resided until April, 2010. Frances loved people and always had an open home for company. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, various crafts, and trying new recipes. She loved the Lord and walked by faith until her Saviour took her home. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2010 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Nova Scotia, where the funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2010. Reverend Tony Gratto officiated assisted by Reverend John Mean. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Moncton Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
