The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, of Trueman Pate of Summerside, aged 93 years. Veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Hiram and Lebanon Masonic Lodge.
Born in O'Leary, he was the son of the late John "Jack" and Ellie (Harris) Pate.
Survived by his wife Isabelle (Gorrill) Pate; children John "Jack" (Nova), Courtney, B.C.; Lex, Sherbrooke; and Trudy (Fabian) Flynn, Seabright, N.S.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister Florence Turner, O'Leary; one nephew and two nieces.
Predeceased by a sister, Amy Gray; brothers-in-law, Roland Turner, Stewart Gray and William "Bill" Gorrill; sister-in-law, Hazel "Toots" Brooks; and by one niece.
Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley. Visiting hours Tuesday morning from 10 until time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the College of Piping would be appreciated.
Brethren of Hiram and Lebanon Lodge #3 will hold a Masonic memorial service at the funeral home Tuesday at 9:15 a.m.
Members of the Summerside Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 9:45.
