It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear son, brother and uncle, Pat Mahar, on Wednesday, June 3, 2008, at home.
Born in Sydney, he was the chosen son of Mary Margaret (MacInnis) Campbell, and the late Hugh Campbell.
A well known resident of Frenchvale Road for most of his life, Pat was a loyal friend and neighbour, always willing to lend a hand. A talented small engine mechanic, he took great pride in repairing things that most would throw away. He was very loving, kind and devoted to his mother, taking care of her at home for many years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Frenchvale.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Margaret Campbell, MacGillivray Guest Home, Sydney; his brothers, Joe (Rosella) Campbell, Sydney, John Campbell, Coxheath and sister, Ann Marie (Daniel) MacLean, Sydney River; his nieces and nephews, Allan and Shaun Campbell, Joelle Crawley, Ryan and Amber Campbell and Danielle Ives.
He was predeceased by his Fr. Hugh Campbell.
Visitation for Pat will be held today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral mass to be held 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Church, Frenchvale with Rev. Dan MacInnis officiating. Burial to follow in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.
