Passed peacefully away at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, Arthur Francis Boyd, age 86 years. Predeceased by his wife Ena Joyce (nee Bird), parents Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Holland), sisters Margaret (Boyles) and Mable (Hillier), brother William. Leaving to mourn his son Kirk, daughter-in-law Kathryn; granddaughters: Megan and Adrienne; sister Florence (Dean); brother Wilfred; sister-in-law Elizabeth (Kean); also a number of other relatives and friends. He was an avid outdoors man who loved to hunt, fish, ski, walk and golf. Arthur was born at St. Anthony, served with the Royal Air Force 1943-46 and had been very active with St. Mary’s Church, he was an honorary member of Select Vestry. He was a member of the Masonic Order, Mazol Shrine, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Singing Legionnaires, Masonic Park Seniors Club, Air Force Club and Honorary member of the Burin Shrine Club. Visitation will take place from Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held from The Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Craigmillar Avenue on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the Field of Honour, Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
