BATTEN, Douglas–Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex, St. John’s after a long and courageous battle for life, at the age of 73 years, retired Postmaster, former Mayor of Glenwood, and Past Master of Landfall Lodge AF & AM. Leaving to mourn devoted and loving wife of 48 years, Lorraine, son Philip (Jane), daughters Beverly and Kimberley (Elan), brother Walter, sisters Doris (Ron), Laura, Evelyn (Alf) and Elsie, grandchildren Orion, Aaron, Nicholas, Kyle, Kameron, Alex, Antoine and Ariane and a large circle of relatives and friends. His remains are resting at the St. Andrew Anglican Church, Glenwood. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 9 at 2:00 p.m. from the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Wing’s Point, Gander Bay. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Anglican Church Cemetery Fund will gratefully be accepted.
