Murray "Tootles" Ross 74 years of High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill, passed away in The Moncton City Hospital on Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Murdock Alexander and Eva May (Hayes) Ross.

Tootles was a member of Cumberland Lodge #5, Knights of Pythias and The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 17, Springhill. He enjoyed watching television especially hockey games, going to Church and socializing.

He will be sadly missed by sisters, Audrey (Ulric "Bud") Knowlton and Doris (Bigelow) Hunter and brother, Carl (Beverly) Ross, all of Springhill; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sisters, Isobelle and Beulah; brothers, Jack, Ronald, Colin and Neil.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, NS (902 597 2361). Cremation has taken place. Visiting took place on Friday, May 29, 2009, from 10 - 11 am followed immediately at 11:00 am by a Memorial Service both held from the Funeral Home, Reverend Elizabeth Davies officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill. A Knights of Pythias and Royal Canadian Legion Memorial Service was held beginning at 10:00 am on Friday.

Donations may be made in Murray's memory to the St. David's Presbyterian Church, or charity of choice.
