Kevin Hillman

We, the family of the late Kevin Hillman, wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all relatives and friends for their support and kindness following the loss of a wonderful son, brother, grandson, great grandson, nephew, soul mate and best friend. We are especially grateful to all who attended Kevin's wake and the huge number that filled Bethel Presbyterian Church for his funeral. Your presence and remembrances of Kevin helped us cope with the immeasurable loss for our entire extended family. Thank you to all who visited, sent food, flowers, and sympathy cards, made donations to the Sydney Y's Men's Christmas Cheer Fund and other charities of choice. Special thank you to all the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association members, clients of Hillman's Transfer and many friends who travelled long distances to pay their respects to Kevin. A heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hillman's Transfer for forming a honor guard for Kevin. To Hillman's , Tom MacDonald Trucking and S & M Trucking for providing trucks and to all the Police Officers who saluted Kevin on his journey to his resting place, the Alfred Smith Cemetery, we thank you. Kevin would be so honored and touched, but would say, what's with all the fuss. Our deepest gratitude and thanks to Rev. Robert Lyle, Organist, Nancy Masters, readers Karen MacNeil and Sara Beth Unsworth. Thanks to Mark MacIntyre and Colin Grant for their rendition of one of Kevin's favorite songs, Sweet Child of Mine. It was amazing and Kevin would have loved it. One of Kevin's best friends, Chris Cameron, travelled home from Ottawa to do the eulogy. Chris, you did an excellent job and touched us all with your heartfelt tribute to Kevin. His best friends from throughout his life were his pallbearers; Vince Wambolt, Jeremiah Janega, Tim Pouchelu, Gordon MacCoy, Dave MacNeil, Chris Cameron, Dave Catoul, Cory Christie and Sandy Muir, thank you guys. We are deeply appreciative for the personal care, professional service and compassion of Wayne Weatherbee and Terry Nichols of Sydney Memorial Chapel. You were both there for us every step of the way, thank you so much. To all of you, and those we have not mentioned by name, we express our sincerest thanks for your thoughtfulness, presence, kindness and support. May God bless you all, our family couldn't get through this difficult time without all of you. Kevin, Rest in Peace, we miss you and love you so much. You touched many lives and were an inspiration to all. Soar with the angels.
