The death of Theresa Hashem, 80 of 105 Spruce Haven Dr., occurred on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the Seaview Manor, Glace Bay, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Bessie (Hashem) Hashem.
She was a member of St. Anthony Daniel parish, Sydney. Theresa was employed with the C.N.R., Sydney, for numerous years retiring as train master secretary. She was also an active member of Council #6, C.N. Pensioners Club.
She is survived by sisters, Mary Hashem, Sydney, Katherine Casseli, Florida; brother, Peter (Annie), Sydney and by her nephews, Isaac and Kevin of Halifax, Michael, Ohio and their children whom she dearly loved.
She was predeceased by brother, Paul F. Hashem.
Friends are invited to gather with family on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral service will take place on Monday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Donald MacGillivary officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
Donations to the C.B. Palliative Care Society; the Cancer Wing of the C.B. Regional Hospital or a charity of choice.
