PICTOU - Catherine "Cathy" (aka The Cancer Slayer) Sullivan-Nelson, 47, of Pictou, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 17, 2010, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late John Sullivan and Violet (Wallace) (Stewart) Sullivan.
Cathy was seen by others as a role model and was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Steven; sons, Anthony and Nick, both of Pictou; brothers, John Stewart (Mary), Arnprior, Ontario; Stanley Sullivan (Sherry), Coldbrook; sisters, Debbie Stewart-Thorne (Dan), Dartmouth; Judy Pierce (Gerald), New Albany. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who all loved "Aunt Cathy"; her dedicated friends, other family members and her best friends, Shilo and Andy, her Siberian Huskies.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2010, in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where a celebration of Cathy's unique spirit and her life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
