Power, Larry Douglas - 58, of Sparwood, British Columbia, formerly of Aldersville, Kings County, passed away Monday, September 13, 2010 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, he was a son of Kathleen (Walker) Power, Aldersville and the late James Power. He retired from working in the coal mines in British Columbia and enjoyed fishing, quading and music, especially playing the guitar. He also had a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Ann (Huntley); four daughters, Angela Hiltz, Yarmouth; Angela (Sebastien) Therrien, Sparwood; Amanda Power, Montreal and Tammy MacDow, Dartmouth; three sons, Anthony (Carly) Huntley, Victoria, British Columbia; Larry (Jen), Fernie, British Columbia and James (Danialle), Calgary; five sisters, Wanda Huntley, Blue Mountain; Hope (Andy) Cotters, Kentville; Valerie (Ronnie Durling) Power, Berwick; Joy (Kevin Schofield) Power, Gaspereau; Connie (Russ) Kelly, Halifax; three brothers; Randy (Grace), Aldersville; Lonnie (Cindy), Greenwich and Darren, Aldersville; seven grandchildren, Justin, Cory, Candice, Jeffrey, Taylor, Tayana and Kalan; several nieces and nephews. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2010 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2010, Pastor Brian Reid officiated. Burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. A reception followed in the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
