Henry (Harry) Hunley, passed away at the Northside General Hospital, Sept. 20, 2010, after a brief illness.
Born in Bras d'Or, he was the son of the late Alexander and Lillian Hunley.
Henry was a veteran of the Second World War serving with the Provost Corps. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney, and the Fr.William Kiely Council of the Knights of Columbus, North Sydney.
He is survived by daughters, Lillian (John) Lang, Victoria, B.C., Marilyn (Ron) Armstrong, Ottawa, Ont.; son, Lloyd, Red Deer, Alta.; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by sisters, Elizabeth Boutilier, Brampton, Ont., Mildred Hunley, Bras d'Or, Rosella (Conrad) MacDonald, Sydney Mines; and sister-in-law, Laura Hunley, Thunder Bay, Ont.
He was predeceased by his wife Anne (MacLellan), four children in infancy, brothers, Lloyd and Cecil and brother-in-law, Dean Boutilier.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney, on Friday, Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jim Attwood officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bras d'Or.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of choice.
