NEW GLASGOW – Robert Alexander Watson, 64, of New Glasgow went to be with the Lord his Saviour on Saturday, June 6th. Robert grew up in New Glasgow and returned three years ago after having lived in Ottawa and predominantly Dartmouth. He was retired from the Coast Guard as a helicopter pilot and trainer. An able craftsman and engineer, he was always willing to share his skills to help others.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Jeanette; children; Jeff (Angela), Toronto; Jason, Toronto; Rebecca (Rick) Hanna, New Glasgow; brother; Bill (Marion) Watson, New Glasgow; sisters; Anne (Ivan) Fisher, New Glasgow; Mary (Jim) O'Connor, Barney's River. He was predeceased by his parents James (Margaret) and baby brother; Donald James. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Carys, Lauren, Alexander and William whom he dearly loved;
The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday in the H. W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday with Bill Watson officiating. Burial will be in the Lorne Street Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. McLean, Dr. Farrell and the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital, for their tremendous support and care.
Donations in memory of Robert may be made to the Palliative Care Unit (Aberdeen Hospital) or the Cystic Fibrosis Society in honour of Emily Watson his dearly loved great niece.
