1909 - 2010 - Elie Richard, 101 of Villa Providence, Shediac and formerly of Sainte-Marie de Kent, husband of the late Emilienne (Savoie) Richard (2003), passed away peacefully at the Dr Georges L Dumont Hospital, Moncton, on Thursday September 23rd, 2010. Born in Sainte-Marie de Kent on January 30th, 1909, he was the son of the late Jean-Baptiste and the late Claira (Nowlan) Richard. Elie was a carpenter with Canadian National for 25 years prior to his retirement. He will be sadly misted by his five children, Huberte Caissie (Roger) of Bouctouche, Oscar (Clémentine) of Moncton, Léonide of Saint-Antoine, Fernand (Maureen) of Connecticut, and Joseph (Rose-Marie) of Gardner, Mass. He also leaves to mourn his eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by four brothers, Eddie, Alban, Alyre and Jean and two sisters, Dora and Marguerite.
Visitations will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie de Kent on Friday, September 24th, 2010 from 7 to 9 and on Saturday from 9 to 11:45 am. Funeral Mass will be at the Sainte-Marie de Kent Church on Saturday, September 25th, 2010 at twelve noon. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
