WESTVILLE - Beatrice Ruth Brooks, Westville, formerly of Linacy, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, September 23, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Ontario, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Verna Brooks.
Beatrice had most recently worked with Dexter Construction as a highway flagger. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and playing bingo with her friends.
Surviving are her son, Shane (Nicole Deveau), Halifax; step-daughters: Susan, Lyons Brook; Debbie, Montreal, Que; Helen, Westville; Cindy (Russell) Gerrior, Trenton; Linda (Robert), Montreal; Wanda (Gary) Coady, MacLellan's Brook; step-sons: Louie, Vancouver; Bobby (Kathy), Mount William; Kevin, Montreal; sisters, Shirley (Sunny), Betty, Beverly, and Karen, all of ON; brothers: Frankie, Johnny, Lloyd and Chuck, all of ON.
Besides her husband Edward Russell "Eddie" Brooks, Beatrice was predeceased by sister, Donna and brother, David.
The family will receive visitors from 12 - 1:45 p.m. Monday in P & K MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
