Evelyn Pickersgill
The death of Evelyn Doreen (Massey) Pickersgill occurred on September 25, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Born in Montreal on January 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Gladys (Munford) Massey. Evelyn was an artist and dressed windows at Calp's and Sears. She is survived by daughters April Lynn Skinner of Saint John and Robin Carol P. (Leonard) Thyr, sister Shirley Neilson, four grandchildren Sarah Thyr, David Thyr, Melissa (Shawn) Thorne and Heath (Sophie) Skinner, three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Thorne, Madison Thorne and William Jordan and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge the absolutely wonderful staff of Saint Joseph's Hospital, 7th floor for their, " loving care of Evelyn and the wonderful support given to her family." Special mention to: Lucy, Agnes, Eyvette, Kim, Patrick, secretary Barb, and everyone else who participated in the excellent care that our very cherished Evelyn received." Visitation will take place on Monday and Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home of her niece, Pat Justason 1851 Manawagonish Road. There will also be visting at Trinity Anglican Church on Wednesday from 1:30 until service time at 2:30. The funeral service will commence at 2:30 from Trinity Anglican Church. Following the service a reception will take place at Pat Justason's residence. A private family committal will take place on Thursday at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
