The death of Mrs. Jeanetta Lilian "Pat" Morrissy RN, wife of the late Honourable John P. Morrissy of Newcastle, NB, occurred on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at her residence at the age of 88. Born in Loggieville, NB, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Margaret J. (Potter) Patterson. Pat was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Newcastle, a past member of the St. Mary's CWL and a member of the Retired Nurses Association. She retired from the Miramichi Hospital after a 43 year nursing career. Pat is survived by: five sons: Kevin of Miramichi, NB; Brendan (Sandra) of Halifax, NS; Charles (Paula) of New Maryland, NB; William (Ann) and Bannon (Eloise) all of Miramichi, NB; four sisters: Wilma Moar of Bayside, NB; Margaret MacDonald of Toronto, ON; Annie Nolan of Alma, PQ; Elizabeth Hay of Miramichi, NB; six grandchildren: Ted, Kerry, Bannon, John, Eamon and William, one great grandchild: Kate and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Pat is predeceased by: her infant twin sister; sisters: Dorothy MacNaughton and Florence Wall; brothers: Archibald, Elmer, Crowell, Robert, John and her infant brothers: Kerr and MacKenzie and daughter in law: Helena Morrissy.
At Pat's request a public graveside committal service will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 11 AM with a reception to follow at St. Mary's Parish Center at 11:15 AM.
