The death of Yvonne Melvina O'Neill RN, wife of the late Robert King Levangie of Fredericton, NB and formerly of George Street, Newcastle, NB, occurred on Friday, October 1, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB, at the age of 88. Born in Newcastle, NB, she was the daughter of the late John N. and Matilda (Connolly) O'Neill. Yvonne was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Newcastle, a retired nurse working most of her career in Montreal. She also enjoyed teaching and writing. Yvonne is survived by: one sister: Molly Dalton of Newcastle, NB; two brothers: Peter and Bill (Terry) all of Trail, BC; nieces and nephews: Marilyn Gallant, Nicholas, John, Donald, Michael and Patrick O'Neill, Betsy Smith, Colleen O'Neill, Ronnie Dalton, Debbie Thompson, Pamela Khan, Katherine, Hunter and Kevin O'Neill. Besides her parents and husband, Yvonne is predeceased by: sister: Gladys Walsh; brothers: Nicholas and Louis and nephew: David Walsh.
The family will receive visitors at Bell's Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday at 11 AM with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In Yvonne's memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Mary's Capital Campaign.
